Romantic Tenor John William Gomez was born in Tampa, Florida in 1981. After two years of vocal preparation under the guidance of baritone Timothy Lester at Miami Dade College, he obtained an associated degree in Vocal Performance and then transferred to The Boston Conservatory of Music under the guidance of baritone Robert Honeysucker, Mezzo-Soprano Rebecca Folsom and baritone Sanford Sylvan majoring in Opera Emphasis. Winning the New England Regional Metropolitan Opera Competition and the NATS competition (National Association Teachers of Singers), has afforded him the opportunity to be invited to sing in many different countries that included Venezuela, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Israel, Syria, United states and Italy where famous Italian tenor Carlo Bergonzi invited him to participated in The Giuseppe Verdi Academy in Buseto, Parma. His engagements include performances with Boston Lyric Opera in excerpts from Elixir D’amore, Puccini’s La Boheme, Schubert Theater Opera House, Jordan Hall, Riverside Theater, Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney, Sanders Theater, McCarthy Theater, Boston Conservatory, Boston University, Seagle Music Colony, Coolidge Corner Theater, Tel-Aviv Opera House, Riverside Theater Works, Duxbury Performing Center, J.F.K Public Library among others. He also has performed as a soloist with Caravan Singers, Boston Conservatory Chorus. In addition to his performances, he was awarded a music scholarship from the South Miami Music Club and invited to sing in the xxxv Annual Academic Awards Ceremony in Miami, fl. His most recently roles performed include Nemorino from L’elisir D’amore, Kaspar from Ahmal and The Night Visitors, Lysander in A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, Almaviva from Il Barbieri di Sviglia, Alfred in Die FledermausandTamino in Magic Flute.
